Whoop-Up Days Info

Whoop-Up Days History

The first fair was held in 1897 at Queen Victoria Park at Lethbridge, Alberta (NWT at that time). This park is now smaller and known as Gyro Park.

In 1904, the first large-scale rodeo was staged as part of the Exhibition, eight years before the Calgary Stampede.

June 2000, 103 years since Whoop-Up Days began, the Grand Opening of the New Main Pavilion took place with public tours and ribbon cutting.
